I was just wondering if you are still working on this. I returned the kits many months ago, and am still hoping to get the DNA results for the mixed breed dog, at least. Is it still possible? Charmaine

Yes our research is still underway, it is going to be for quite a long time as we plan to always be collecting samples from participants. Research takes time and we need to make sure that our methods of sequencing will be able to provide you with the most information possible. Our goal it to find correlations between behavior and genetics in canines, which has never been done before. Since we are a research lab, we are limited to our grant money so things are moving on the slow side currently. We are always looking into different avenues to get things moving along! Thank you for your patience and participation.
I too, am wondering if I will ever hear about my dog Penny's DNA. I know there is only one person working on it. I sent her DNA sample in back in November of 2016 I believe. I only hope I was able to get enough of a sample. I hate to think that after waiting so much time you could say that you did not have enough of Penny's DNA.
Hi Aimee, our entire lab, the Karlsson lab is working on this research project at Umass Medical School and The Broad Institute. Sending out the kits is really the responsibility of 1-2 people currently. That and our backlog is why it is taking time to get kits out to all participants.
We do have Penny's DNA sample and when we can we will be sending out more samples to be sequenced!
