I can't upload a photo for the new dog I added. I also had marked him as not neutered as I filled the surveys out around the time he was neutered, so the answers were based on pre-neuter behavior. It always reverts to being altered though.

Catherine, I do see an image for one of your dogs, but not for the other. Have you tried adding an image for each of them? Our image handling is certainly far from perfect, however, I usually can see the remnants of something going wrong when there is an error, and I see no indication here - their profiles in our database look like they should if a photo was successfully added for one dog and never attempted for the other.
As for their neuter status, I was able to confirm there was a bug in that page. Thanks for pointing it out! I just patched it up, please try again and let me know if it's working now.
EDIT: just to be sure - when you add an image, you add it in the box on the right, then you have to still press the "Update Profile" button at the bottom to save that change. Are you doing that?
Yes, I select the picture, it shows up, then when I hit "save updates" it goes back to the survey site home page and it is back to the default.
I have not been able to view the information on my dog for several months. I submitted the swab kit in early June, 2016, and have not received any information since then -- or access my profile. Dog's name: Maxx Breed: Malti-poo
Hi Glenda, can you please be more specific about the problems that you are having with your profile? I see that you can indeed log in as you are posting on the forums. As for the information about your dog, once you have sent back the swab, the only thing that we can tell you as of right now is if we have in fact received it. We are still collecting samples, and the genotyping chip is not quite ready for the samples to be run on it. This research will take time, so we kindly ask for your patience. When results do come in, we will most likely post the results onto your profile and will not email them as that could be complicated.
Catherine, I have been able to replicate the image upload issue. That's odd as we did have it up and running pretty well, but a new bug seems to have been introduced. Now that I can replicate the issue I should be able to track it down pretty quickly. I'll post back here when I do.
EDIT: Actually is was working fine all along. The problem is many browsers cache the old image. As the new image overwrites the old one and thus has the same url, most browsers will just use the local copy they have in their cache. Clear your cache and you'll see the new photo. I'd like to keep the same filename, so I'll try to find a way to force a cache update for the new image. A url parameter is added after you update the image, so it should show up properly in the sidebar immediately after you post the new photo - but then if you navigate to another part of the site, the parameter is dropped and the cached image is used instead.
EDIT 2: Fixed this up now. I found a good way to invalidate old cached images while still allowing long-term caching by using the file mtime as a url parameter for images. For anyone not as code-nerdy as me, that means it should work now without sacrificing any of the effeciency of the previous method.
It may be user error at this point but I still couldn't get it to work, either on a desktop or my phone after clearing the cache on both (again there may have been one user error on that part!)
It isn't a big deal for me, just wanted to let you know in case it happens to others.
Catherine, I would like to ensure this works for everyone. So if you could email me the photo you are trying to use I could try that out here. You can send it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Also if you could note in the email what browser(s) you are using and what OS version you are on that might be helpful.
